The Thule Xsporter Pro Shift Overland Truck Bed Rack gives you a solid 600-lb carrying capacity, so it’s built to handle rooftop tents, kayaks, or heavy gear without flex. The fixed uprights sit 18" above the bed rails, keeping the crossbars below cab height for better aerodynamics and easier loading. It’s a stable platform that keeps your bed free for everything else you need to bring along.
When you’re not hauling gear up top, the uprights can slide forward along the TracRac base rails (sold separately) to open up the bed for tall or bulky cargo. Quick-release clamping knobs make this simple—just loosen, slide, and tighten again. You get the flexibility to clear space for oversized loads without having to remove the rack entirely.
The 71" long crossbars come with four sliding load stops to keep your cargo from shifting. Each bar has integrated channels that fit most Thule clamp-on and channel-mount accessories, so you can add mounts for bikes, boards, or other gear exactly where you need them. Thule Xadapt adapters (sold separately) can be used for certain accessories, making it easy to set up your rack for any type of adventure.
Made from aluminum with a black powder-coated finish, the rack resists corrosion and stands up to rough use on or off the road. The finish also gives it a clean look that stays sharp even after seasons of exposure. With the Thule One-Key System lock cores built into the uprights, you can secure the rack to the bed for peace of mind wherever you park.
WindDiffuser rubber strips sit in the channels of the crossbars to cut down on wind noise and drag. They also give the rack a finished look while helping protect your gear from metal-to-metal contact. That means a smoother drive and a system that works as great as it looks.

Tremendous service
Installation was pretty easy, and took about 2 hours for me working by myself. I put the rack on my 2021 Toyota Tacoma, and anyone else with a Tacoma and stock bed rail system needs to make sure to order an adapter kit. This rack won’t work at all if you have the bed rails with the included clamps. I mounted a CVT Tent on the rack, and I did need to get longer bolts to get a secure fit on the tent brackets. I’ve seen reviews elsewhere stating that these racks have come with missing or incorrect parts, but etrailer sent me everything needed and it came together perfectly! I did get a faulty clamp with the adapter kit I ordered from [online store], but had absolutely no problems with the rack from etrailer and was really impressed with how quickly they shipped it to me. I got it within just a few days, even with the freight delays around the country and it being the holiday season. I’ll definitely be back here when I’m ready to get the next mods for my rig!
First let me say that the rack is solid, well made, fits well and went on easy. However, I've had a number of compatibility issues with it. Yakima products will not fit and many Thule products will not fit. The cross bars are so big that most clamping systems will not fit. It does have a T-rail if the components you want have that option. If you need something that can handle 600lbs (car top tent or heavy loads for work)then its great. Otherwise I would go with a smaller capacity rack that is more compatible with add ons.
It’s very well made, heavy duty.
Looks good and should last a very long time.
I’ve put my Yakima SkyBox 18 on it and we are ready for adventure.
Bought this for my 2020 Toyota Tacoma and with the adapter kit (https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/Thule/THXK4.html), it works perfectly for what I needed. Right now using it to haul two kayaks but eventually will be using it to haul a hardtop camper. Perfect midsize height. Very sturdy, somewhat easy to assemble (Thule instructions are pretty bare bones but once you get started it's pretty easy to follow).
This might have been a good rack but it was not clear that in order to install, you needed to purchase the base rail separately Had to return and purchase a different mid-height rack instead that did not have the slidable/adjustable track feature but was a lower overall price
